Altarnun Beer
Range Varies
(H) Originally
a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, this welcoming pub retains
many original features; there are two small rooms off the main bar area
for pool and diners. It regularly features brews from the nearby Penpont
Brewery, as well as up to three or four other ales from Cornish and
national brewers, plus draught cider (Press Gang) from Skinner's.
Legend
has it that the front wall collapsed when a previous landlord dug out
the pub cellar. Camping is in the pub grounds. Family-friendly, it
serves food 1200-1400 & 1800-2100; dogs are welcome at the pub
outside food times. There is a very limited bus service
to/from Launceston in daytime, Mon-Fri, from Altarnun village, about
2km/25+ min walk away. The Inny Valley recreational walk is nearby. |
