This main road pub is run by a landlord who is keen on his real ales, and provides as much variety in his choice of beer as he can from the Punch Taverns lists. Up to 8 ales in the busy summer months are reduced during winter to Doom Bar, a couple of regional brewery ales such as Spitfire or Old Speckled Hen, and one or two ever-varying guest beers. The pub has one large, diverse room with a semi-separate eating area, and a spacious car park at the rear. Children and dogs are welcome. Live entertainment Friday eve and some Saturdays (local choirs are always popular), quiz night Sun. The main menu is available 1200-1400 and 1900-2100, with snacks in between.
