(H) Large
house converted to a pleasant multi-roomed pub, popular with naval
families living around the nearby training establishment; children are
welcome if accompanied by an adult. The main bar has a large screen
showing TV sport; a separate pool room has its own bar serving hatch,
and there is a cosy snug. The capacious restaurant features a carvery,
while bar snacks include filled panini and baguettes. Food is available
from the carvery 1200-1430 and 1800-2100, Mon-Sat. Late night closing
times may be flexible according to circumstances. |

(H) Basic
one-room bar with well-trodden wooden floor and games area (darts, table
football) at one end. Typical sailors' pub, which seems to specialise in
weird-flavoured vodkas. There are few facilities - the outside drinking
area is benches on the pavement - but it is handy for the ferry/buses to
Devonport. |

(H) Basic
community pub overlooking the ferry slipway and Devonport dockyard
across the river. Once consisting of two rooms, these are now connected
either side of the U-shaped bar; the former 'public' still houses the
dartboard.
Families with young children welcome during the daytime. |

(H) Sports-orientated
town centre pub with plush carpet and large TV screen in the front bar,
which is also decorated with the inevitable collection of military
plaques. The pub is on a split level, with the lower floor towards the
back designated as the games area. Live entertainment most weekends.
Food is mainly limited to assorted salads and filled bread rolls. The
pub name means a line of mooring buoys or warships at anchor. |

Draught Bass
(H) Large
town centre bar referring to itself as a 'fun' pub in the evenings, but
with a quieter and more reflective clientele at lunchtimes. The guest
ale is usually another nationally-available brew such as Pedigree or
Courage, but at times the pub may have no real ale at all on its three
handpumps! The room is festooned with TV monitors. Popular with sailors
from the nearby training establishment. |
