(H) Ancient
and timeless granite village pub close to the cliffs, on the north coast
of the Penwith peninsula. The Sharp's Special appears as a house beer
called Zennor Mermaid (ask about the legend), and farmhouse cider from
Barrow House farm is also sold. Food is available during summer
1200-1430 and 1830-2100; in winter, food availability is variable, and
phoning the pub first is recommended. The garden is a superb place to
sup a beer on a sunny day as it faces south and is sheltered from the
wind; there is an outside smokers' area. With the Cornish coastal path
and the granite moorlands close at hand, this is a popular watering hole
for walkers as well as trippers along the beautiful coast road. |
